Thomas Kelm (*1966 in Bamberg) lebt und arbeitet in der Metropolregion Nürnberg. Als Autodidakt entwickelte er eine eigenständige künstlerische Praxis, die Malerei, Collage, Objektkunst und Performance verbindet.

Im Mittelpunkt seines Werkes steht die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Spannungsfeld zwischen Natur, Mensch und Künstlicher Intelligenz. Ausgehend von Einflüssen der Street Art, Popkultur und Subkultur entstehen vielschichtige Bildwelten, in denen Roboter, hybride Wesen sowie Figuren wie Kong oder Godzilla zu Metaphern einer neuen, vom Menschen geschaffenen Natur werden. Seine Arbeiten untersuchen, wie technologische Entwicklungen unsere Wahrnehmung, Identität und Beziehung zur Umwelt verändern.

Neben großformatigen Gemälden realisiert Kelm Objekte und partizipative Performances, in denen das Verhältnis von Mensch und Maschine unmittelbar erfahrbar wird. Seine Werke wurden in Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen in Deutschland sowie international, unter anderem in New York, gezeigt.

Thomas Kelm (*1966, Bamberg, Germany) is a German visual artist living and working in the Nuremberg metropolitan region.

A self-taught artist, Kelm has developed a distinctive visual language that combines painting, collage, objects, and performance. His work is influenced by street art, pop culture, and subcultural movements, while exploring the social and technological transformations of contemporary society.

At the core of his practice is the relationship between nature, humanity, and artificial intelligence. Recurring motifs such as robots, hybrid beings, Kong, and Godzilla serve as metaphors for the encounter between the primal forces of nature and a new, human-made artificial nature. His works investigate how technology reshapes perception, identity, and our relationship with the environment.

Alongside large-scale paintings, Kelm creates sculptural objects and participatory performances that invite audiences to reflect on the evolving dialogue between humans and intelligent machines.

His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Germany and internationally, including exhibitions in New York.
